Our client, a financial services business, was attending primary schools to provide financial literacy in a series of workshops. They wanted to tell the story of what they were doing in the financial education space, so Phillips & Phillips looked to the media for opportunities. The challenge was to find the hook – the element of the story that people would find interesting. The workshop facilitator makes the sessions interactive so there are a lot of conversations and there were a few themes developing that were interesting and potential hooks. We explored more into these and found the perfect angle.
Phillips & Phillips interviewed the client, constructed a media release, built a targeted list and followed up specific media contacts. Following calls from journalists, we arranged an interview with the client.
Stuff’s financial and money reporter covered the story and it appeared in several blogs on education and childhood development.
